I purchased a similar product from another store that was fixed and plastic. The ends often popped off, leaving a mess to clean up.
This add-a-rod, is definitely sturdier with a metal rod, not plastic. The adjustable straps will come in handy if I need to adjust the height off the floor. The part I love most, is that ability to adjust the length of this rod. If needed, it could be used to the entire length of the closet.

I really like the concept of this product. The only issue I have with it is that the straps to adjust the bar don't work very well. I had to rig it myself to get it to the height I needed, but it still works and is effective in adding more space to my daughter's closet.

We have been hanging my three year olds shirts in the closets but the problem is that he is not tall enough to reach them and needed help everyday. Since we put in the add a rod he wants to do everything by himself. He is so excited about being able to pick out his own clothes and we are excited to see him become so independent. It was so easy to put up and we love all of the adjustibilty so it can grow with him. We will be picking up more pieces to add to all of our children's closets!

I installed this item in my children's closet so that they could reach their clothes themselves. It's worked out well, my eldest can now pick out her outfits, and we keep her dress up clothes there too. Having the additional closet space is a bonus, works well for kid's clothing. It seems sturdy enough, and is more than adequate for our needs. I was unable to find this item anywhere else, and so am grateful for One Step Ahead's innovation.

Bought thie closet organizer for my 3 y old's closet. She loves It! She orgainzed it herself. She finds everything and dresses herself!

This allowed my two girls (9months and 2) to share a closet and give us extra space for other things. THis would also work if you wanted to allow a older child easier access to their clothing and still keep some items off limits on the higher rod.

With another baby on the way I was looking for a way to use the closet in my almost 2 year olds room to fit both of them. I had looked through a lot of different systems when I found this online. It was easy to assemble, went up in about 15 minutes and is very durable. I even ordered extra drawers for my small bookcase as additional toy and book holders. I would recommend this to anyone!

This add-a-rod is AWESOME! It has completely organized our twins' closet and made my life so much easier. We live in a townhome with very small closets so this has been the best buy I've ever made!! I recommend it to anyone with multiples or small closests or someone that just has a lot of baby/toddler clothing :-)

I put the add-a-rod in my daughters closet she is only 1yr old but she has more clothes than I do (thanks to my family) so I had to do something about her closet. The add-a-rod is very convenient.It took no time to put it up, a few velcro straps wrap it around the existing rod and your done. I didn't realize how much room I was wasting between her floor and the bottom of her clothes until I hung the add-a-rod in her closet, now I need to order another one for my other daughters closet.

My two sons share a room as well as a very small closet. This Add-a-rod is wonderful! Each boy has his own rod now, and I can heighten or lower the rod so my son can get his own clothes off it. It's wonderful for organization, as well as for independent kids. I pack the rod full, and it has never bowed or warped.

Unfortunately the rod is too long on the smallest setting. It is 32" long including the rubber ends which is too long for my 31" closet. I bought the rod not for the fact that it was extendable but for the actual idea of creating more closet space. My closet is on the narrow side and I relied on the indication that the rod is 30" wide on the smallest setting. [...]o I'm planning on giving it as a gift to a friend.

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter's closet. I realized she could not reach a lot of her clothes from the high rod. I put the clothes I want her to wear to school for the week and some jackets/sweaters on this lower one so she can remain autonomous and dress herself and pick out her own clothes.
