I bought this for our second child. Our first we just used a small bassinet. I thought wow a wooden gliding cradle that transform to a bench, I gotta have it. It is much deeper than any other cradle I checked out. I bought a bumper pad from another place and it was too short in height to be safe after our son started to wiggle around. We never found a taller bumper. The best bet is the pne that is made for it, which is mainly a boy color.[...]. Be careful with the wood. It is soft so any bumps or dings show and be carful when putting away.We wrapped ours in sheets. We had as a bench for awhilewhen our son got older, but they used it more to see who could rock each other the hardest. We started with it by our bed and it was way too low for me to pick up our son. It is large and heavy so unless you have alot of space and don't plan on moving it look for something different. I had a c-section so it was very hard for me to keep bending down to pick up and put down our son. The only good thing about it is that it glides insteads of rocks and it matched our furniture color.

I bought this cradle many years ago[...] in a natural color. It has seen me through 2 babies so far and is by far the best cradle out there. It's sturdy, very well made, great design. Even after 2 kids it still looks as good as the day I bought it. I'm planning on packing it away soon and saving it for my daughter when she becomes a mom.
