Comments about DK Publishing My First Touch 'n Feel Flash Cards:
My daughter loves these cards she is 5 months old. She showed interest in regular cards that she couldn't have...so now she has two sets of her own. One set I will keep for when she is older for variety. Designed to last...if you try to keep them out of babies mouth they will last longer. Plus I do appreciate that they are educational. I love that each card gives you ideas to interact with your child to make the cards more fun while they learn!
Baby bend likes to bend and bite them; they aren't as durable as some, but they're inexpensive so I won't mind buying more when she destroys these. She loves the tactile features and they catch/hold her attention.
My son is a very (very very) active 23 month old, and these cards keep him busy for longer time periods than most toys. He can pick out what they are, he can tell me most things (in his words), and he "acts out" how the object works or acts. We have the Things that GO & First Words out, and they are OUT all the time. He also enjoys trying to dismantle the velcro closing. Great cards!
Gift for my Granddaughter... Excellent learning tool for toddlers.
My 5 month old loves these and I know he will for quite a time to come. He hasn't even gotten to feeling the textures on the cards and I really like the discussion prompts on the back. I'm ordering the other two sets!
I bought these for my son just before his 1st birthday, he is almost 15 months now. He LOVES these cards. We always play together with them so when he sees me get the box out he runs to the living room and sits on the floor. I'll put 3 cards out and ask him to show me one, i.e. "show mama the dog". I cannot say enough good things about these cards. I don't let my son play with them unsupervised b/c he still chews everything and I want them to last, but the box they come in is well made, the cards are well made and I am buying every single set they make after having purchased this first one.
I use these cards pretty much daily to help my daughter learn what words are. She loves the textures and is starting to understand the words. For example BEAR. I can ask her now where her bear is and she will point or get him.
My son is picking up on these words so quickly...great flash cards
These cards are teaching my grandson his letters and the different types of animals. He loves to touch and feel the skin of each.
I got these on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. The collection of words is well thought out, the pictures are big and bright, but not too busy. The tactile component is wonderful. My baby loves looking at the pictures and is beginning to touch and feel them. Also, as a Speech Language Pathologist I can add that these cards are a great and fun way to work with you child on various language skills well into their toddler years. My only wish is that they were a bit sturdier, as my daughter is a mouther!
My 17 mo. old daughter loves these cards, she can already name most of the items on the first words set. Great buy, I recommend them to all my mom friends!
My son loves this cards, He knows them pretty well, and his speech become more proficient. My son and I played this like a game, I don't force him and when he has enough I respect his decision that makes him to be more interested next day. He asks for them, I just give him the option to choose which one he would like to play. thumbs up
Great learning tool to work with toddlers learning shapes, colors, descriptive words. Also, the flashcards provide thought provoking ideas on the back to each card to expand learning process.
We got these cards for our daughter's 1st bday, she loves them! The cards are all bent now, but we can't expect much with a 1 year old. She learned so much from them already! She takes them out one by one and we say what it is and how it feels and when she puts them back in the box, we say "ok, put the kitty away"...and so on, and she is catching on so fast!! Love them!
Both my grandsons love the interaction between the cards and the spots where they can feel each picture.
