I had this item back in 2005 and it has lasted until now. It is great because my daughter likes to hang on the oven handle. This oven lock has kept my children from getting hurt. I would recommend it to any parent.

I love this thing! My son loved to pull on the oven door and this thing so far has kept him from doing that. While he is just 18 months old, I am hoping this thing works for years to come!

My 15month son loves to open the oven door and all cabinets and drawers. Although we had a lock on the oven, he still managed to open the door and got 2nd degree burns on his little fingers. Luckily they're healing fine and will not have any scars. One Step Ahead was the only company that I found to have an oven lock that my son can't open. Terrific device!

This lock was easy to install and is easy to use. My son is obsessed with opening the oven door and with this lock in place, the door will not budge. I wish they made a lock this strong for dishwashers. My only issue is that this lock interferes with the knob cover of the center burner knob. I had to remove the knob completely.

Love this product! It has completely deterred my 1 yr old from opening the oven! I read in some other reviews that there were problems with the adhesive sticking properly. So, I reinforced it with a long piece of mounting tape when I installed it. It hasn't budged and I've used the oven 6-8 times now. Highly recommended.

I bought this product because my oven's built in lock does not stay on if the oven is in use. I could not position this product in the center of my oven door because the oven has a built in over lock for cleaning. You would think that adjusting it a few inches to the left would not make a difference but it does. I constantly have to push on this product to engage the lock function and because I cook alot the heat from the oven seems to have weakened the adhesive. It has actually come off before and I had to re-apply it. If you really need an oven lock of this type then you may want to pair it with a side strap lock.

The first thing my daughter did when she learned to walk was to go ito the kitchen, grab the over door, and promptly fall to the floor (with over wide open). So, I bought this to give it a try. I LOVE this lock! I just got it and it installed in seconds. Very easy, and very secure. It also doesn't look bad, especially as compared to a lot of the child-proofing stuff out there. Definitely a great buy! I highly recommend this product.

Works wonderful. My 4 year old still couldn't get in the oven. After 4 years, the adhesive finally wore out, so I'm buying a replacement.

Was not able to use due to it not being compatible to my stove. Can't say if it would work or not but i wish there were different types since there are different types of stoves.

The concept is great...it works much better than the strips that go across the stove (my 14 month old had those off in three days). It was easy to install and locks very securely...the only problem that I had was the weak adhesive. After the first use I had to constantly re-position and press the lock back into place whenever I opened the oven door. This was inconvenient but not really a safety hazard because it still locks in place securely when the oven door is closed (the adhesive never made the lock fall off..it would just slide a bit if the oven was on and I opened it). I eventually pulled it off and used a stronger double stick mounting foam tape to re-stick it to the oven and it works fine. I'm guessing the tape will need to be replaced every now and then since water sometimes drips down onto it and the heat probably warps the adhesive, but I think its a small price to pay for the security of this lock.

This looked like it would work great, but it has already fallen off and won't restick. It wasn't expensive, but should've lasted at least a year!!! I only used my oven like 3 times and it unstuck forever.

The oven lock worked great till I used the oven the first time with it on and the tape or glue that hold it in place stopped sticking and it fell off. My husband glue it back on.

Initially, I wasn't sure this gadget would work for our oven door. The oven is a Wolf; the door has a particularly tight seal and a thick, rounded lip which didn't seem as though it would accomodate the lock. Still, with some adjusting, the lock has worked perfectly, and our 19-month-old is perfectly perplexed that she is no longer able to explore the inside of the oven or instigate a light show by opening (and compelling one of us to close) the oven door.

Might have worked, but it didn't fit our oven. It was too big to fit through the oven handle. Disappointed and need to find something else.
