Comments about KidCo Configure Gate 24" Extension:
It is pricey for a gate, but it's the best of its kind and certainly well-worth the investment for awkward spaces such as the bottom of open staircases. Easy to set up, easy to use, sturdy enough that my 4 yr old climbs over the top and it doesn't even budge
The extension together with the gate workes great. [...]
Needed the extension to cover the area between the living room and kitchen. Using the gate to keep the dogs out of the living area.
extensions are easy to add to gate... [...]
We used this as an alternative to a pool fence. Built free standing wooden columns and attached the gate and 11 extensions to fence in a 30ft patio opening in the backyard. Worked wonderfully!
Great for customized fit.
My husband and I LOVE this gate. It keeps the baby and dog out!
We have very wide door openings and an open floor plan so we needed a flexible gate system. Bought three extensions and the configure set and so far are very pleased. We have a very mobile 7 month old and we hope that the gate will hold up well over time.
I purchased the configurable system with extensions for our strong-spirited crawler-come-toddler. I was a bit concerned by the comments about difficult installation - however, I had no issues and it was a real breeze to set up. Not sure where others went wrong. Nicely protecting my expensive stereo/tv and keeps "junior" away from the hearth as well!
The gate along with the extensions are fantastic, especially if you've got an awkward area that needs to be off-limits to little explorers. And it's not adult-proof like so many hard-to-use gates! In fact, my 5 yr old opens/closes it without assistance (thankfully). I highly recommend this gate.
This gate was perfect for an area in our house where the 2 walls were not square on. It was easy to install. The gate is easy to open, even for my 6 year old, and it looks nice too. Well worth the money!
I use this gate for my 1 year old. Once my husband and I got it installed, it has been great! But, getting it configured the way we wanted was awful!!!! It was so difficult to unhinge the sections and we finally just took the separator rods out, configured it the way we wanted and put the rods back in. The gate is also very tricky to use. The plus side is that my son certainly won't be able to get it open, but sometimes, I can't either!!
This was easy to put together and the gate opens both ways so it is easy to go through no matter which way you are heading. It also can change directions to accomodate stairs or other openings that are strange. We use it to keep the dogs from the crawler baby. Works great and looks nice and clean! The only negative is that my 5 year old cannot open the gate, but she learned to go around the ends without letting the dogs into the living room with the baby.
We use this to cordon off a corner of the living room where we keep the video & stereo equipment so our son can't mess with the buttons or climb on the shelving. The extensions make it big enough to cover the space.[...]
We have an A-frame home with a loft. The loft stairs run almost directly into a set of spiral stairs going down into the family room. My one year old tried to climb up the loft steps and down the spiral steps. With this gate system we were able to set up and configure the gate so that we could safely and securely block off both sets of steps. It works perfectly and I am so thankful that I found this gate system. I looked everywhere else before I found it in the Leaps and Bound catalog.
Blocking the escapy!
