The car valet is fantastic for quick runs to the store or multi-hour road trips. Purchased for my toddler, now a preschooler, she still uses it every time we get in the car. Be certain to purchase the twist type crayons,colored pencils, stickers, etc to fill the convenient pockets. (regular crayons will melt in warm weather creating a mess!) I have bought 2 more for gifts and am excited for others to enjoy it!

My 5 year old daughter LOVES this! There are great compartments for holding all sorts of art supplies etc... The strap is adjustable so you can lossen or tighten depending on how high or low she wants the writing table to sit on her lap. Very entertaining for car rides!

I bought the car valet for our long road trips. My daughter not only likes to color but she also likes to watch videos on her portable DVD player. I thought this would be perfect to set her dvd player on to watch her videos, but unfortunately it hits her at an ackward place on her legs. She cannot use it while sitting in her carseat, so for now, it really is only used to hold her stuff in the car, but she can't use the drop down table.

This was great for a long, hot car ride. I was concerned about crayons melting in my car as well as losing crayons, pens, colored pencils, chalk, etc during our car ride. This attached to the seat in front of my son and kept all of his art supplies close at hand. Nothing melted and nothing got lost. My son was able to find what he needed quickly and without frustration and the tray worked well for most of his artistic and writing endeavors. It is expensive, though, but for us it was worth the extra money.

This works good in our SUV but not the family car. The front seat is barely high enough to make the fold out sit in my child's lap and then she cannot reach the bags and attachments, etc. Not user friendly for all cars
Also saw essentially same design without pretty colors for cheaper in a department store. Shop around

We bought this for our 5 year old daughter when we were heading out on a 3,000 mile road trip. She loves to color and draw and this was a big hit-it made it very easy for her to occupy herself and keep all of her markers, etc., very handy.
Our one complaint is that it does not secure well to the back of the seat; it kept sliding down. So we looped some string through the handles and around the headrest and it worked great.
The cardboard table part is sturdy enough for her to draw, but I felt more secure that it would crumple if we had a crash.

I was disappointed with the quality especially for the price. One Step Ahead usually has high quality products so I was surprised with this one!

My 4 year old daughter was really excited when I got this for her. We make a lot of 2 hour trips in the car and she loves to color. She was happy for almost the entire way. She took the little "pouches" out and plays with them in the house but even without them, it's still great.
A good alternative to the portable DVD player!

We bought one for our son when he was 2 and he wanted to draw and play in the car. We liked it because in the event of an accedent, the "table" part is cardbord and will crumple unlike the hard plastic versions that doctors say cause terrible injuries.
After 3 years of daily use, it ripped so we bought 2. One for my son and one for my daughter is old enough to have her own, which she has wanted forever!

The car valet is a great product! My 3 year old got one for his birthday and he loves it! We are going to order some more for the other kids soon. Just don't leave crayons in it in the summertime :-/ Cleans up very nicely and holds a lot of supplies and coloring books and paper.
