It keeps both my preschooler and toddler out of the closet. The glue does not hold well, but I just used a peice of foam sticker (craft store) and holds great.

This door lock is great in conception. One Step Ahead was the only place I found it. But the adhesive is not strong enough. The doors are made of wood, not rough but not sealed either. Even after letting it set for a couple of days my son was able to open the doors and it popped right off. I ended up sticking two command strips on the back and so far so good.

I've used these with both of my children to keep them out of the sliding closet and have bought several sets of them. You have to use a stronger adhesive or they won't stick. I used multiple layers of double sided foam squares to achieve the right level or the door will just slide right over it. With proper use I get a maximum of 3 months use out of them before the wings break. Great idea, poor construction...at almost [$] I'd like a better product.

Our almost 2 year old kept getting into the mirrored closets in our house and we could not find anything to keep the doors locked so she could not open them. I was very excited when I saw this product. We bought it and less than a week later, the adhesive stopped working and is stuck to the mirror and the clip snapped where it bends. It is a great idea, but doesn't work the way I had hoped it would.

I thought this was a great idea but they break fast. The bending parts can only be bent so many times before they just break. I think this lasted about two weeks. Now the babies just get into their sliding door closet and pull out all their clothes. I put a toy box in front and the little guys just find a way around or over it. If any one has found a great devise please let me know.

I use these on sliders to a patio to keep my toddler inside. They are not strong enough to keep burglars out but so far they keep my toddler in! If you forget it's there and open the door without flattening it - it will fall off. They use double stick adhesive and once it comes off it never really sticks as well again. Also with sliders - don't close the door behind you!! You will have trouble getting back in! Learned this the hard way.

My twin 3-yr old boys are at the mischief stage, and love to slam cabinets and sliding doors whenever possible. After pinching their fingers once with the sliding doors in their bedroom, I knew I had to come up with something fast to prevent a serious accident from happening. I installed these clips in seconds and so far they've worked like a charm. Since the boys can't play with the doors anymore, they lost interest in them all of a sudden. :-)

My son is a master at getting into things and at the early age of 1 he was getting into my wife's closet. Needless to say things were lost because we didn't know where he hid them! He is mad at us now at the age of 2 1/2 as he still can't figure out how to get into the closets !

We have been waiting too long for this product! My mother-in-law has dubbed it the "butterfly" and it works about a thousand times better than the diaper that used jam the doors shut. I'm bummed it wasn't out for my first child, but I am sooooooo glad we have it for our second!!! It keeps her out of her closet and her room stays in order. Awesome.
