i bought this product for my son when he was 6mon. cuz we lived in a loft where had concrete floor, and could be very slippery. But it didn't work..The weight of this helmet was too heavy and limited his movement by carrying extra weight on his head. He didn't like wearing it either.. :( The idea was great but not very productive.. He also looked like the mushroom character from 'Mario Brothers'!

I bought this product for my child when she started walking. It is very light weight and easy for her to wear. It was handy to have for those first few months of unsteady walking. It's a little hot to wear for too long and after she was steady on her feet we didn't use it.

My daughter is 9 months and learning to walk. She gets upset when she has the bonnet on and pulls it off. [...]. What a waste of money!!!! I got the cream colored bonnet with the teddy bears and I think its an ugly print for a girl.

I bought the bumper bonnett for my 18 month old who already knows how to walk. Reason being because he's just a very active child and he constantly bumps his head! My Goodness I have never seen anything like him. His pediatrician recommended that I get him a helmet because head injuries can be fatal, so the bumper bonnett was perfect because its soft. The only problem I had with this product is the color. I thought I was getting a red one and I got a white one. So it dirties often and my 18 month old doesn't like it, so it takes a lot of patience to get him used to it. Overall I am satisfied and I use the product often.

it really looks silly but it works and has kept us from many, many tears and possibly a trip to the ER or two. easy to put on and my son doesn't even know it is there (well, at least not until my husband starts laughing at him!!). money well spent if you have a little one learning to walk especially if there is an older sibling who wants to "help".

This is an especially fantastic product for any parents who have a house with hardwood, tile, brick, or non carpeted flooring. Our house has a lot of non-carpeted flooring & before having this bonnet I was in total fear that my baby boy would hit his head on the hard surface while trying to stand. Now, the fear is somewhat alleviated knowing that he does have some protection, although, I still watch over him like a hawk. The bonnet I received was a cream color with the cutest little bears. It is soft & my son seems to be very comfortable in it. I can see where it might get warm in summertime, but, I'll just keep it a little cooler in the house. Love that the strap adjusts. This fit my sons head perfectly. Plus, the price is right. Thanks One Step Ahead for providing such a terrific product. [...]

We ordered it because our 7-8 month old would fall often while crawling and trying to walk but the helmet wasnt really thickly padded as described. When he does wear it he cries and wants to take it off since his head seems to heat up in it.Overall its not too bad even though we would have liked it to be more strongly padded.

What a great idea! Our baby doesn't mind having it on her head. The only flaw is it tends to fall forward a bit and needs readjusting, but works the way we need it to, which is to keep her little head safe.

I bought this for my 9 month old son who is pulling up and cruising along the furniture. He is always trying to keep up with my 2 year old twins, which results in a lot of "head bonks". Now when he falls, there are no tears or bruises, thanks to this genius product.

It was a little different than I expected, but it works great. It is made of soft flannel with pillow-like fiberfill stuffing. It is like a little head pillow. It is a little big for my 9 month old son, so I do have to adjust it occasionally while he plays. When you first put it on it is hillarious. They look like the little mushrooms from the Super Mario Bros. games, but it is so worth the fashion faux paux.

I am pregnant with numebr two, and when we found out tha the fluid balance in her ears was off, just like her older sister, I knew that I had to get this as soon as I saw it. My first daughter was once walking around outside, and she tripped because of the unbalanced fluid. she hit her head on the pavement, and cracked her skull. Luckily, the ER was able to repair it, but now there is a little spot on the side of her head where you can feel there is no skull. Me and my husband our hoping this will help our coming daughter to keep her head safe, and not repeat the accident. Our older daughter has used this product many times when walking around to make sure she does not get another head injury, which could lead to permanent damage.

We purchased the bonnet when our seven month old daughter started crawling, pulling up and cruising all in the same week. We thought the bonnet would prevent head injuries in case of a fall. When the bonnet arrived, it was softer than i thought it would be. We put it on our 22lb 7mo-old and it was so bulky she couldn't see well. Now, she only uses it as a chew toy. We plan on saving it for when she gets older/bigger but we're not sure she'll need it then.

I told my family that I had bought one before it got here, and they all thought it was a dumb idea. My husband, a Green Beret, was even angry about it. But once it got here, they all changed their tune. Luckily, it wasn't the ugly red one pictured on the Web site; instead, it was white with little teddy bears on it. My 8-month-old son has an extremely large head - 95% for his age, and he has balance issues. After sitting for a little while, he'd suddenly flop over. We have hardwood floors in most of our house, and I was constantly worried and watching him. After I put this on him - and it goes on easily - I stopped worrying so much. Now, he can play on a walk 'n ride without me hovering around him. Since we come from a military family, I put a nametape on it that says "Baby KEVLAR"...it's too cute. When it comes right down to it, we put a helmet on kids when they learn to ride a bicycle...why shouldn't we put a helmet on them when they're learning to walk? Bottom line: ignore the laughter and mockery and buy a little peace of mind and baby protection.

I really like this product. It does make my son's head sweat if it's on for too long. I wish the padding was a little thicker. Overall I like product because we have hardwood & ceramic tile floors.

I felt silly at first buying this product. But I am so glad we did! It has saved our crawling 8 month old from so many slams to his head on the hardwood floors and tile of our home and on the cement in our backyard. Beginning crawlers are going to slam their heads a lot...why not save them from a few? The only downside for us is that it heats his head pretty fast. On a cool day it is great. But on a hot day, too hot.
